Private Lessons

Marlin Swim Academy was built on private swimming lessons and we have clients travel far and wide for our programs and instructors!

Private lessons are usually recommended for:

  1. Swimmers who need extra support or attention in the water. They may have special needs, have very high energy or are a little nervous and need to work at their own pace.

  2. Swimmers or parents recovering from water-related trauma.

  3. New swimmers who may be discouraged by younger swimmers in their class, if they registered in group lessons.

  4. Swimmers who want to progress quicker than they have been in group lessons*

*Private lessons are not always recommended or effective in this situation. If you are not sure, please connect with the office so we can help ensure you find the best fit within our programs.

Private lessons are a great way to ensure you connect with the instructor of your choice. Each instructor, just like each swimmer, has their own set of skills that can be better suited for specific types of swimmers. Be sure to connect with a Marlin Swim Academy team member to determine the best instructor fit for your needs. Read more on our instructor teaching styles and levels here.

Group Lessons

Group Lessons

Our group swimming lessons are quickly becoming Hamilton and Niagara's most sought-after classes!

Here's why: Our group class ratio is kept very low at 3:1. Our friendly, knowledgable and experienced instructors are able to keep control of the classes and everyone safe and moving to maximize swimmer progress.

Group lessons are best for swimmers who:

  1. Can thrive working on a skill-based curriculum.

  2. Works well with other swimmers.

  3. Is safe to work in an environment where there is not 1:1 attention the whole lesson.*

*If a swimmer requires extra attention, a support person (i.e. parent, therapist, etc.)  is welcome in the water, at no additional cost, in order to keep all swimmers safe and progressing. Please connect with the office to discuss your swimmer's needs prior to enrolling.
