Interest Courses (non-certification)
Infant & Child
CPR
Learn CPR and choking procedures for children 8y and younger.
Course Time: 1.5 hours
Cost: $75 for 4 participants
Infant & Child First Aid & CPR
Learn CPR and choking procedures as well as common first aid emergencies for children 8y and younger.
Course Time: 2.5 hours
Cost: $100 for 4 participants
Certification Courses - CPR:
CPR-A
CPR-A(Adult) teaches how to do CPR and choking procedures for adults and includes the importance of early defibrillation and how to use an AED.
Course Time: 3 hours
Cost: $320 for 4 participants
CPR-B*
CPR-B (Adult, Child & Infant) teaches parents, grandparents, babysitters, or child care workers the CPR and choking procedures for adults, children and infants. CPR-B includes the importance of early defibrillation and how to use an AED.
CPR-C
CPR-C (Adult, Child & Infant) covers all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adult, child and infants, including two-rescuer CPR skills. CPR-C includes the importance of early defibrillation and how to use an AED.
Course Time: 4 hours
Cost: $480 for 4 participants
CPR-HCP/BLS
CPR-HCP (Adult, Child & Infant, AR, AED, BVM) covers all aspects of CPR including rescue breathing and the use of AEDs and BVMs. This Health Care Provider (HCP) level is designed specifically for those who as part of the job description as Health Care Providers have a duty to respond to medical emergencies (e.g., doctors, nurses, paramedics, and allied health care professionals).
Course Time: 4 hours
Cost: $560 for 4 participants
*With the new, Ontario-wide, updates to the WSIB First Aid program, the CPR-B certification will be retired as of June 21, 2026.
Certification Courses - First Aid and CPR:
Basic First Aid*
Basic First Aid includes how to contact emergency medical services, rescue breathing, how to treat choking and minor injuries.
Generally combined with a CPR-A certification.
Course Time: 3 hours
Cost: $240 for 4 participants
Emergency First Aid + CPR-B**
Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include: victim assessment, CPR, choking and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack, stroke wounds and burns.
Course Time: 8 hours
Cost: $640 for 4 participants
Standard First Aid + CPR-C***
Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR and is designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid including: legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries, and medical emergencies.
Course Time: 16 hours
Cost: $960 for 4 participants
Standard First Aid + CPR-C RECERT
Current (non-expired) SFA certification holders may recertify their Lifesaving Society certification, if they completed the full course within 3 years.
Candidates may not recertify if their current certification is with another organization (i.e. Red Cross) or if the completion date of their last course exceeds 3 years.
Course Time: 8 hours
Cost: $640 for 4 participants
*With the new, Ontario-wide, updates to the WSIB First Aid program, the Basic First Aid program, as is, will be retired as of June 21, 2026 and the current "Emergency First Aid" (to still be called Basic First Aid + CPR-C) curriculum will take its place.

***As of June 22, 2026, the current Standard First Aid + CPR-C program will be called Intermediate First Aid + CPR-C.
Courses at our facilities are generally offered in a condensed format:
CPR Courses (3-4 hours) - Generally one weekday evening or one partial weekend day
CPR Courses (5+ hours) - Generally offered on a partial Saturday or Sunday
First Aid Courses (5+ hours) - Generally offered on a full/partial Saturday or Sunday
First Aid Courses (16 hours) - Generally offered one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
Private courses may be offered in different formats. For example, homeschool groups may choose to have a first aid instructor come for one hour, weekly, until the course is complete. Businesses may hire a first aid instructor to come over a few afternoons to keep workflow, but still allow employees to participate.
